Under the patronage and supervision of His Excellency the Minister of Technical and Vocational Education, Dr. Faraj Khalil Salem, the Distinguished Researcher Award ceremony was held today in the main auditorium of the college, attended by several Libyan government ministers, and a group of faculty members, experts, and researchers.
The ceremony began with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the Libyan national anthem. The Minister of Technical and Vocational Education then delivered a speech in which he welcomed the attendees and praised the researchers' efforts, noting that this day will become an annual event to honor researchers for their efforts.
The minister highlighted the ministry's strategic plans, including the Year of Scientific Excellence plan and cooperation with international scientific institutions such as UNESCO. He also announced the launch of the educational platform for technical education and the first Libyan Conference on Technology and Innovation, where more than 50 scientific papers were accepted for participation.
The minister also pointed out the ministry's ongoing efforts to develop the curricula of colleges and institutes according to international ABET standards, emphasizing the importance of the workshops that will follow the scientific conference aimed at updating technical and vocational education curricula to meet the requirements of the labor market. He also mentioned the ministry's efforts in maintaining several technical institutes and colleges, affirming that these efforts are part of improving the infrastructure of technical and vocational education in Libya.
Following that, Dr. Jumaa Al-Jadeed, Minister of Education, gave a speech where he emphasized that the Islamic religion encourages knowledge and education. He noted that many researchers in Libya have not received adequate attention and support, asserting that all distinguished faculty members deserve recognition and support for presenting valuable research papers. He also stressed the importance of technical education and its vital role in developing societies and raising the level of development in countries.
In his speech, the Minister of Health, Dr. Othman Abdul Jalil, highlighted the importance of technical education, stating that developed countries give significant attention to this type of education. He also emphasized the need to encourage researchers and provide adequate financial support for the educational process.
In recognition of the efforts, the Chairman of the Scientific Research Award Committee, Dr. Mohamed Al-Dulaimi, welcomed the attendees and expressed his gratitude to the Minister of Technical and Vocational Education for the idea of the award, and his thanks and appreciation to the College of Electrical and Electronic Technology in Benghazi for hosting and successfully organizing this ceremony. He noted the precision and objectivity in the process of selecting the winners based on internationally recognized scientific and academic standards.
The ceremony included a lecture by Dr. Salah Ajbara titled "Enhancing the University's Global Standing in International Rankings," followed by another lecture by Dr. Ahmed Joudeh titled "Academic Pathway Indicators between Bloom's Taxonomy and Genmai's Artificial Intelligence." The ceremony concluded with honoring the winning researchers of the Scientific Excellence Award:

Second place:
Prof. Nasr Al-Naeli, faculty member at the College of Electrical and Electronic Technology - Benghazi

Prof. Saad Al-Shamekh, faculty member at the College of Electrical and Electronic Technology - Benghazi
Fourth place:
Dr. Mohamed Al-Dulaimi, faculty member at the College of Mechanical Engineering Technology - Benghazi
Fifth place:
Dr. Najmi Al-Zuwaygi, faculty member at the Higher Institute of Marine Science Technologies - Sabratha
It is worth noting that this award will continue annually to honor distinguished professors in the field of scientific research.
