The College of Electrical and Electronic Technology in Benghazi achieved a remarkable scientific accomplishment with the contribution of Dr. Asma Ali Budalal in authoring an e-book on the SpringerLink platform. The research paper presented an analysis of millimeter wave link performance, based on real rainfall data in Libya, collected from the Libyan National Meteorological Center, Department of Climate Management and Climate Change, during the period from 1981 to 2010.
The study included predictions of one-minute rainfall rates in various regions of Libya over 30 years, as well as estimating link losses at millimeter wave frequencies. Throughput and Spectral Efficiency were also calculated for satellite links at multiple locations such as Benina Airport, Tripoli Airport, and Shahat.
The paper emphasized the importance of accurate measurements of rainfall rates and the necessity of considering worst-case scenarios when designing links operating at high frequencies.
